Unfortunately, this has been a less than stellar week as both Ian and I have spent much of it in bed sick. He somehow threw out his back on Christmas Eve, while I caught a stomach bug on Tuesday.
These are just handful of things that have made everything just a tiny bit better!
.:1:. Netflix, but more specifically Lie To Me and old school Degrassi High.
.:2:. Ginger Ale in my Beauty & the Beast cup
.:3:. Kitty snuggles!
.:4:. The Book of Three, by Lloyd Alexander The first of The Chronicles of Prydain series that are one my husband's childhood favorites. After I bought him Disney's animated version of The Black Cauldron for Christmas, he insisted I start reading the books!
.:5:. Sophie LOVES PlayStation! Seriously, we should probably put a stop to this little habit that she has taken to this past week, but it's still so cute.

A poor excuse for a first blog entry...
Two weeks left in my Christmas break! Two weeks left until I begin my very last semester of my undergrad life! Two weeks left to get some much needed rest, reading, and work done around the apartment!
My first week on holiday was a rather busy one, filled with lots of crocheting. This was the first year that I made nearly all of my Christmas gifts, at least for the lady folk of my family. Hats and winter headbands for my sister-in-laws and garlands of stars and flowers for my nieces. I'm just sorry that I didn't snap any photos of my finished work! Next year I'd like to work on finding something to make that the men and boys will enjoy, too.
I've been happy to notice that the more I crochet and work on projects, the less time I spend online! It's been wonderful! Still, I'm very excited to see what this blog becomes.
Now I suppose I will leave you all with a photo of Starbuck snuggling with me as I worked on the layout

If you haven’t guessed already, I’m KrisMary. I’m 24 years old, originally from Philadelphia, PA and currently settled outside of Vancouver, BC. I relocated here after I met a beautiful ginger man on the interwebz and married him.He and I are both nerdy youth workers, who have a special passion for working with hurting teens. We have two cats in a new, amazing apartment that we are in the process of making our home. I absolutely love the life I live!
My hobbies include reading, crocheting, creative journaling, photography, baking, sewing, and spending way too much time online looking for more DIY projects. I enjoy drinking tea (hot & iced), fun colors, fantasy and science fiction, hair dye, nail polish, word games, vintage fashion, and being a homebody.
First, meet my super sweet husband, Ian! He's my absolute best friend and the sweetest guy in the world. He encourages both my geekery and need to craft! I'm convinced God really did make him just for me.
On to the kittehz! Although she's not at all close to being orange, meet Tangerine! She's my oldest cat, who spends most of her time asleep on her favorite blanket and wakes up when she feels the need to knead it!
Next is my little viper pilot, Starbuck. Since my husband and I adopted her as a kitten, she'll always be my baby. Despite her small size, she sure is feisty and usually is the one to cause trouble among the three.
Thankssomuch for sticking around! It's so nice to meet you!
I hope you have fun and find some inspiration on my blog!
